AI & Platform Disclaimer
This Disclaimer governs the limitations and boundaries of the technology, content, and outputs provided by Trylle. It will help Brands and Shoppers understand what Trylle's AI can and cannot do, and where responsibility lies for decisions made using the Platform. This Disclaimer is incorporated by reference into Trylle's Terms of Use.
AI Virtual Try-On — Accuracy and Limitations
1.1 What Virtual Try-On Can Do
Trylle's virtual try-on technology uses computer vision and generative AI to superimpose garment images onto a Shopper's body photograph or standardised avatar. It provides a useful visual approximation of how a garment may look when worn, designed to reduce size anxiety and return rates caused by fit uncertainty.
1.2 Material Limitations
Virtual try-on is not a perfect substitute for a physical fitting room. The following limitations apply to all virtual try-on outputs:
- •Not a precise fit guarantee: The visualisation is an approximation. It does not account for real-world fabric behaviour under movement, body heat, individual posture, or weight distribution that differs from the source photograph.
- •Dependent on input quality: Accuracy is directly proportional to input quality — the Shopper's photograph (lighting, angle, resolution) and the Brand's product images (professional photography, consistent backgrounds). Poor-quality inputs produce lower-quality visualisations.
- •Garment type variation: Accuracy is higher for structured garments (denim, tailored jackets, formal trousers, fitted kurtas) and lower for heavily unstructured or draped garments (certain sarees, loose knitwear, flowing gowns). Brands should manage Shopper expectations accordingly.
- •Colour and texture rendering: Colour accuracy depends on the Shopper's display calibration and ambient lighting. Fabric textures (embroidery, sequins, zari, 3D appliqué) may not be fully rendered and may appear simplified.
- •Avatar limitations: Where a Shopper uses a standardised avatar, the visualisation is illustrative of the garment's general silhouette rather than a personalised fit assessment.
- •No size prediction: Virtual try-on shows how a selected size looks but does not predict which size is optimal. AI Stylist size guidance is advisory only.
1.3 Shopper Responsibility
Shoppers should use virtual try-on as a supplementary decision-making tool, not a definitive fit determination. Shoppers are encouraged to review the Brand's size guide, material information, and return policy before completing a purchase.
1.4 Brand Responsibility
Brands must not represent to Shoppers that virtual try-on outputs guarantee actual fit or appearance. Brands should include appropriate disclaimers adjacent to the widget in their storefront (e.g., "Virtual try-on is illustrative. Results may vary. Please refer to our size guide.").
AI Stylist — Nature of Recommendations
2.1 What AI Stylist Is
Trylle's AI Stylist is an automated recommendation engine that suggests outfit combinations, complementary products, and styling ideas based on the Brand's catalogue, general trend data, and session interaction signals. It is a technology tool — not a qualified human stylist.
2.2 Limitations
- •Limited personal context: The AI Stylist does not have access to the Shopper's full wardrobe, budget, cultural context, event specifics, or body goals beyond what is shared during the session.
- •Catalogue-bounded: Recommendations are limited to the Brand's product catalogue; the AI cannot recommend items not listed.
- •Trend data lag: The AI's understanding of trends may not reflect the very latest runway developments or hyperlocal preferences.
- •May suggest items out of stock: Recommendations are based on catalogue data at the time of processing; Trylle is not responsible for stock availability at the point of purchase.
2.3 No Liability for Styling Outcomes
Trylle expressly disclaims any liability arising from a Shopper's decision to follow AI Stylist recommendations, including dissatisfaction with appearance or fit, social or professional outcomes of styling choices, or financial loss from purchasing decisions.
No Guarantee of Commercial Outcomes
Trylle makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees regarding specific commercial outcomes from using the Platform, including: reduction in return rates by any specific percentage; increase in conversion rates, session duration, or average order value; revenue growth; or customer satisfaction improvement.
Statistics and benchmarks quoted on the Trylle website represent averages across a sample of Trylle merchant accounts and are not a promise of identical results for any individual Brand. Commercial outcomes depend on numerous factors, including product category, price point, target demographic, product image quality, pre-existing return rate, competition, and overall storefront user experience.
Third-Party Platform Integrations
Trylle integrates with third-party platforms including Shopify, WordPress/WooCommerce, and others. Trylle: (a) is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially partnered with Shopify Inc. or Automattic Inc. unless explicitly stated; (b) cannot guarantee uninterrupted compatibility as third-party platforms update their systems independently; and (c) is not responsible for disruptions caused by third-party platform updates, plugin conflicts, or changes to the Brand's own storefront code.
Platform Availability and Uptime
Trylle aims to maintain high availability but does not guarantee 100% uptime. Trylle is not liable for downtime caused by factors outside its reasonable control. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated with at least 24 hours' notice where possible. Platform performance may be affected by the Shopper's own internet connection, device, or browser. Current status is available at www.trylle.co.in/status.

No Professional or Medical Advice
Nothing on the Trylle Platform, website, documentation, or AI Stylist outputs constitutes professional advice of any kind, including:
- •Medical or body image advice: Trylle's tools help Shoppers visualise clothing — not guide body type, weight management, or health. Trylle is committed to body-positive AI outputs that do not make negative evaluative statements about Shoppers' bodies.
- •Legal advice: Brands are encouraged to consult qualified legal counsel regarding their own compliance obligations.
- •Financial or investment advice: ROI projections and performance metrics are technology benchmarks, not financial forecasts.
Third-Party Links and Content
The Trylle website and documentation may contain links to third-party websites, tools, or resources. Trylle does not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or security of any third-party website. Such links are provided for informational convenience only.
AI Model Bias and Fairness
Trylle's AI systems are trained on diverse datasets and designed to work accurately across a broad range of skin tones, body types, ages, and garment styles. However, like all AI systems, residual biases arising from training data composition may exist. Trylle is committed to: (a) ongoing testing and auditing of AI outputs for bias; (b) accepting and investigating reports of biased or offensive outputs; and (c) improving model fairness as part of regular product development.
If you observe outputs that appear to treat individuals differently based on skin tone, body size, gender, or ethnicity, report this immediately to hello@trylle.co.in. We investigate such reports within 5 business days.
Legal Compliance is Your Responsibility
Trylle provides technology tools. The legal compliance of each Brand's use of those tools is the Brand's own responsibility:
- •Consumer Protection Act 2019: Brands are responsible for ensuring their product descriptions and use of virtual try-on outputs do not mislead Shoppers.
- •DPDP Act 2023: Brands collecting Shopper data via their storefronts are independently responsible for maintaining DPDP-compliant privacy notices and consent mechanisms.
- •Advertising Standards: Brands using Trylle's performance benchmarks in their own advertising must comply with ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India) guidelines.
- •Platform-specific rules: Brands must comply with the terms of service of the e-commerce platforms they use alongside Trylle.
- •Sector-specific regulation: Brands in regulated sectors (pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food) must obtain appropriate legal guidance on how virtual try-on may be used.
